Mississippi River Red Wing Lake Pepin Pool 4 and More Fishing Guides

7/6/22  Trolling bite out in Pepin has been hot, hot hot.  Usual locations are all putting out fish, be it Rush River, Deer Island, Stockholm- all have been good. Shad style baits are the standard but do not be afraid to mix up with other styles of cranks. Cover the water column, as fish do not always have to be on the bottom.  Hot tip: make sure you are marking schools of bait on your graph.

Location: Fox River, Green Bay WI / Time: late March-mid April

Want a shot at a 12 pound walleye?  This is the time and place!  Be prepared to fish into the night, as that is when the biggest fish tend to be caught.  Capt. Clark and Capt. Dan live for this bite and has not missed fishing it in years.  Contact Capt. Clark or Capt. Dan ASAP if interested in a Fox River trip, as they book up fast.

Location: Oconto, WI / Time: April-May

This is a fun bite for both BIG prespawn and postspawn walleyes. Pack your Rippin Raps! What is great about this bite is fish are targeted both before and after they make their run up the Oconto River. Timing is everything- good thing is, this bite can be combined with a Fox River trip since both locations are within close proximity.  Capt. Clark and Capt. Dan, like the Fox River, have this bite totally dialed in.  Like the Fox, contact them well in advance as these trips book up quick for this hot bite.

Location: Western WI Lakes and Mississippi River / Time: April-Oct.

One thing the Mississippi river and our local lakes are blessed with are GREAT panfish populations.  So, do you have some kids that want an easy trip?  Fact is, most other types of fishing can be challenging to beginners.  For this reason, we offer a “plan B”.  Matter of fact, who doesn’t like catching big bluegills or crappies!  All are very well versed in this bite and can certainly help you out.
